Eranda De Silva
International finance and business operations professional with experience across New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles and Sri Lanka. Founder and Director of ClearDesk Business Services.
Founder & Director
International experience with practical commercial depth
Eranda founded ClearDesk after building finance, accounting and operational experience across four markets: Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles and New Zealand. His background covers professional services, reinsurance and financial services, property and retirement living, hospitality, construction and trades, facilities management and owner-managed businesses.
That mix matters. It means a finance process is considered from both sides: the accuracy of the numbers and the practical reality of how people, approvals, customers, suppliers and systems work inside a busy organisation.
He holds MBA qualifications from EIT Auckland and the University of Sunderland, and professional memberships with the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia), the Institute of Financial Accountants (United Kingdom), and the Association of Accounting Technicians (Sri Lanka).
Accounting knowledge supported by modern systems
Eranda has hands-on experience with Xero, ApprovalMax, Dext, MoneyWorks, QuickBooks, Sage, Tally and advanced Excel-based reporting. His focus is not technology for its own sake: it is using the right tools to reduce duplicated work, improve control, strengthen reporting and make records easier to maintain.
The e-invoicing specialism
UAE e-invoicing brings accounting data, business process and technology together. Eranda's work focuses on that connection: readiness assessment, field mapping, customer and item master-data improvement, provider coordination, integration testing and practical operating procedures.
This systems-led approach helps a business prepare its information properly and work effectively with its selected accredited transmission provider and professional advisers.
How he works
- Set the scope clearly. Responsibilities, deliverables, timing and fees are confirmed in writing.
- Fixed fees. Quoted in writing, before the work starts.
- Show the workings. Every engagement produces a branded computation and a colour-coded workbook, so any figure can be traced back to its source.
- Use the right capability. ClearDesk coordinates accounting, systems and specialist input where the engagement requires it.
Working across markets
For clients in New Zealand, the UAE and Sri Lanka, the focus is the same: clear priorities, commercially practical work and a written record of progress, decisions and next steps.
