ClearDesk Academy

Academy training terms & conditions

Understand your training, fees and rights before you book.

18 October 2026

1. Who provides the training

ClearDesk Academy is an education service of Yasara Solutions Limited, trading as ClearDesk Business Services, Auckland, New Zealand. Contact info@cleardesk.co.nz or +64 20 4010 1914. These Academy terms apply to group and one-to-one training. They take priority over inconsistent general service terms for training; mandatory legal rights always apply.

2. Enquiries, booking and course details

An enquiry is not enrolment, an order or a commitment to pay. Before you accept or pay, we confirm in writing the subjects, prerequisites, tutor arrangements, live-session dates and time zones, duration, delivery method, group or one-to-one format, included materials, access period and any completion criteria. We also disclose the total fee, currency, applicable taxes, payment dates and any software, professional-body or third-party charges. Only the agreed scope is included. No unannounced charges or automatic subscription renewals apply.

3. Practical education and independent status

Training covers the agreed practical skills. NZ GST and IRD topics relate to New Zealand and are educational; they are not personalised tax, legal, investment or immigration advice. Australian tax or BAS training is not included unless separately and expressly agreed. ClearDesk does not promise employment, visas, migration outcomes, professional membership, vendor certification or a recognised academic qualification. Any attendance or completion acknowledgement is ClearDesk’s own, with criteria disclosed in advance. Xero, MYOB, IPA and IFA are independent organisations; no endorsement, accreditation, partnership or authority to decide membership is claimed.

4. Membership information

IPA / IFA information is independent guidance based on published requirements. The relevant body determines eligibility, admission, fees and ongoing obligations. Requirements may change. Confirm them directly before relying on a pathway. Applications, assessment, exemptions, experience requirements, professional practice rights and migration assessments are outside the training fee unless the written scope expressly states otherwise.

5. Your participation and software access

You need a suitable device, internet connection and the prerequisites disclosed for your course. We confirm permitted demo or training access and any licence costs in advance. Do not share passwords, live myIR access or confidential employer or client records. Use fictional or properly anonymised practice data. Materials are for your personal learning and must not be resold, published or redistributed without permission. Third-party content and software remain subject to their own licence terms.

6. Cancellations and rescheduling by learners

Contact us in writing as soon as you need to cancel or reschedule. Any notice periods, rescheduling arrangements and reasonable cancellation costs must be disclosed and accepted before payment. No undisclosed penalty or automatically non-refundable deposit applies. Where no different fair written arrangement has been agreed, cancellation before training begins receives a refund less any reasonable, evidenced third-party costs you approved that cannot be recovered. After training begins, any settlement reflects training and agreed materials already supplied plus those approved unrecoverable costs; unused prepaid training is refunded. This does not limit remedies for a service failure or other mandatory rights.

7. If ClearDesk changes or cancels training

If we cannot deliver a session or make a material change to the agreed programme, we will contact you and offer a suitable alternative. If the alternative does not suit you, you may cancel the affected undelivered portion and receive a refund for it, without limiting any additional remedy required by law. We do not substitute a credit for a refund without your agreement. We explain any agreed revision to dates or content before it applies.

8. Privacy and session recordings

We use enquiry details to respond and arrange your requested training. Enquiries use FormSubmit and email processing as described in our privacy policy. An enquiry does not subscribe you to ongoing marketing. No recording of your image, voice or contributions is made without prior notice and the necessary consent; any access, purpose and retention period are explained first. Do not record or distribute another person’s session contribution without permission. You may ask for access or correction of your information using the contact details above.

9. Concerns and consumer rights

Please email your name, booking reference if any, the issue and the outcome you seek. We will review your concern and work with you to resolve it. Nothing excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 where applicable, or mandatory protections in your country. General liability limits do not override these rights. You remain free to seek independent advice and use available courts or tribunals.

10. Changes and applicable law

These terms apply from 18 October 2026 to new training enquiries and bookings. Later website changes do not retrospectively reduce an accepted booking or accrued rights. New Zealand law applies, subject to mandatory rights and any lawful jurisdiction protections that apply to you. If any wording is unclear, contact us before booking so we can clarify it in writing without reducing your rights.
